Vendor Privacy Notice

This notice covers the data we collect from you as a NKEMSTORE vendor running your store, managing staff, and processing subscriptions. It also covers something most marketplaces don't spell out clearly: the data you handle about your own customers, and what that makes you responsible for.

1. What We Collect From You

• Business details: business name, business email, phone, description, and logo.
• Owner account: your name, personal email, phone, gender, date of birth the same core fields any NKEMSTORE user provides.
• Location: country, state, city, and the address of each branch you register, including GPS coordinates used to calculate delivery fees for your customers.
• Subscription and billing: which plan you're on, payment reference and amount via Paystack, and renewal history. We don't store your card details Paystack handles that directly.
• Staff records: if you create staff or manager accounts under your store, we hold their name, email, phone, role, and if you choose to record it a default salary figure for payroll purposes. That salary data is visible only to you and the staff member it belongs to, never to other vendors or the public.
• Sales and analytics data: revenue, order counts, and product performance, broken down by branch.
• Job vacancy applications: if you post job openings on your store page, we collect applicant details (name, contact info, address, qualifications, and their guarantor's details) on your behalf and hand them straight to you.

2. Why We Collect It

To run your store: process your subscription, calculate branch-level delivery fees, generate your sales analytics, let you manage staff and payroll records, and route job applications to you. We also use aggregated, de-identified vendor performance data to improve how NKEMSTORE recommends products to customers this never exposes your individual figures to competitors.

3. You Are Also a Data Handler Not Just a Data Subject

This is the part worth reading carefully. When a customer orders from your store, we pass you their name, delivery address, and phone number so you can fulfil that order. At that point, you are handling personal data under the NDPA, not just us. That means: use it only to fulfil the order, don't add customers to a marketing list without their separate consent, don't share it with anyone outside your own staff who need it to do their job, and delete it once you no longer need it for that transaction or your own tax records. If you're found using customer data NKEMSTORE gave you for anything else reselling it, spamming customers directly, or handing it to a third party that's a violation of both this notice and our Vendor Seller Agreement, and can result in suspension.

4. Payroll and Staff Data A Note on Responsibility

NKEMSTORE's payroll tool is a record keeping and receipt-generation feature. When you mark a payslip "paid," we're recording that you told us you paid that person outside the platform no money moves through NKEMSTORE for staff salaries. You remain the employer of record for anyone you add as staff, responsible for their pay, tax withholding, and any labour-law obligations that apply to your business. We just store the record and print the receipt.

5. Who We Share Vendor Data With

Paystack, for subscription billing. Termii and WhatsApp Business API, to deliver order notifications tied to your store. We don't sell vendor data to advertisers, data brokers, or competing platforms.

6. Retention

Kept for as long as your store is active, and subscription/payment records for at least seven years for tax compliance. If you close your store, customer-facing data (product listings, reviews) is removed from public view immediately; financial records are retained as required by law.

7. Your Rights

Same NDPA rights as any user access, correction, deletion (subject to the tax-retention point above), and the right to complain to the NDPC. Contact privacy@nkemstore.com.
